Lone Pine Museum of Western Film History: Day 6

On our last day of the trip we took the opportunity to visit the Lone Pine Museum of Western Film History. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the museum, the extent and the quality of their collection. The museum was the result of $1 million grant by Beverly and Jim Rogers of Las Vegas. They are not related to Roy Rogers or Will Rogers. They have been having an annual film festival in Lone Pine for twenty years. Recent movies shot in Lone Pine area are 2009 summer blockbusters:GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Transformers 2:The Revenge of the Fallen.

Then we started south. We had lunch in windy Mojave. Then home.
