I am a retired golf course superintendent. I worked at the Calabasas Country Club for 34 years. For 26 of those years I was the Superintendent. I became a certified superintendent in 1995. I am located in the Southern California City of Oxnard.

When I started working there they were starting the construction of the first home around the course. When I left the valley was built out with homes. It was to the point that noise control of maintenance operation was the determining factor of scheduling. The meandering creek through the course became a roaring torrent within a few minutes of a rain event. Nine storm drains emptied onto the course from the surrounding streets.

I started serious photography with my first SLR camera in 1980. It was a Pentax MESuper. After taking several classes at Ventura College, I became relatively accomplished. Then on to Digital photography with a Minolta Dimage 5 in 2001.It had 3.3 megapixels and was a terror on batteries. I purchased my first DSLR with a Canon Digital Rebel 350 in 2006. It had a 8 mp and 3 fps frame rate. Then on to a Canon 30D with 8 mp and 5 fps in 2008.
